E.E. Reed Construction East Coast Golf Tournament Raises Awareness and Support for The RYR-1 Foundation
PITTSBURGH, PA– The RYR-1 Foundation is honored to have been selected as the charitable beneficiary of this year’s fundraising event hosted by E.E. Reed Construction East Coast. Through the generosity and support of attendees, sponsors, and organizers, the event successfully raised $140,000 to support the organization’s mission.
The event was held at The Golf Club at Lansdowne and was attended by Lindsay Goldberg, Executive Director, Michael F. Goldberg, President of the Board of Directors, and Randy Pepper, Treasurer of the Board of Directors of The RYR-1 Foundation. During the event, they had the opportunity to share information about RYR-1-Related Diseases (RYR-1-RD), the impact these conditions have on individuals and families, and the organization’s ongoing efforts to fund research, support families, and move toward effective treatments and ultimately a cure.
“We are incredibly grateful to E.E. Reed Construction East Coast for selecting The RYR-1 Foundation as this year’s charitable beneficiary,” said Lindsay Goldberg, Executive Director of The RYR-1 Foundation. “The overwhelming generosity shown through this event will help us continue funding critical research, supporting affected individuals and families, and raising awareness of RYR-1-related diseases.”
“It has been a true honor to help plan and participate in this year’s E.E. Reed Charitable Golf Tournament to support The RYR-1 Foundation,” said Colin McShane from E.E. Reed Construction East Coast. “Supporting a cause that not only raises awareness about this rare disorder and funds research, but also supports and advocates for affected families, made this event especially meaningful. Supporting a cause that directly touches a member of our team makes this deeply personal and reminds us why giving back matters. Thank you to Lindsay and Michael for all that you do.”
The RYR-1 Foundation remains dedicated to accelerating scientific research, increasing awareness, and providing resources and support to the global RYR-1-RD community.
“When our son Van was diagnosed with an RYR1-related myopathy, The RYR-1 Foundation was the first place we found real answers, real community, and real hope,” said Stan Sollenberger, employee of E.E. Reed Construction East Coast. “Having E.E. Reed choose the Foundation as this year’s tournament beneficiary meant more to our family than words can express. Seeing 240 golfers — colleagues, clients, design partners, and subcontractors — show up and give so generously to a cause many had just learned about was something I’ll never forget. Thank you to everyone at E.E. Reed and across our industry who made it possible. We’re hopeful this contribution will help drive the research that families like ours are counting on.”
